I cannot even tell you how excited I am about what I’m about to show you. It’s hard to explain when you haven’t been living without it for almost 2 years, but now that we have our new farmhouse kitchen chandelier I just can’t wait to share more about it! I already shared some details on my Instagram, but you guys wanted to hear more:
Here’s the backstory – we had a hardwired light in the middle of our kitchen, but it wasn’t over our table. We knew we eventually wanted a chandelier that swagged over our kitchen table, but couldn’t find something we loved in our budget.
I found this chandelier and saved up my money until we could buy it – I am so glad I waited!
(Also – I just bought this adorable cord cover – but I didn’t have the patience to wait until it came in to share these pictures I’ll update this post with the new pictures when it’s up!)
I was a little worried the glass was going to be too yellow – but I think it works with our vintage touches around our home.
See the tutorial to make these DIY shelf ledges here.
And guys – it adds SO MUCH LIGHT! There’s 8 lightbulbs, at 60 watts each…it’s crazy bright in our kitchen now! It’s really funny – we’ve been basically sitting in the dark at dinnertime for a year and a half. I knew it was dark, but I didn’t realize how dark it was until we had a “real” light!
The moral of this story? Well, first, I love this light – you can see more about it/buy it here.
But really? Be patient. I’m the first person who needs to learn this lesson. But renovations take time, and sometimes you need to live in the house for a while before you realize what it needs (and before you may have funds to pay for the things you’d really like in the space)!
